Situated along this trail is the Nakdong River Victory Memorial Hall, which commemorates the victory that was won in the Battle of the Nakdonggang River, the last stronghold in the defense of the country during the Korean War (1950-1953), and pays tribute to the war veterans who sacrificed their lives to protect Daegu. In the Chunghontap Tower Plaza, there are bust sculptures of deceased patriots and historical records of their sacrifices and achievements as well as stone inscriptions of poems about the patriots and their love for their families and their country, honoring the spirits of patriots and martyrs alike.

The wide, smooth road along the large gol (valley) is lined on both sides with pine trees and Rose of Sharon bushes. The pine tree represents the spirit and vigor of the Korean people, while the Rose of Sharon is Korea's national flower. The incredible number of these trees along this path makes it a place that naturally cultivates our love for our country and appreciation of patriots and martyrs.
